Every day we are more and more conscious of how our tax dollars affect our pocketbooks. Our concern has led to greater and more frequent calls for transparency. Shining the spotlight on government of makes its stewards uncomfortable and it is uncomfortable to do it. It is easy to point at Washington or Springfield, but looking into our backyards is tougher. It’s tough, but necessary to ensure that our children have a world that they can grow old in.
